FEDPONEK RECTOR BAGS FELLOWSHIP AWARD

 The Rector of FEDPONEK, Dr. (Mrs.) C.U. Njoku has been conferred with the Fellowship Award of the Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM). 

The Award was conferred on her during the year 2015 South East Zonal Management Summit of the Institute held at the Polytechnic Campus in Owerri.
Presenting the Award to the Rector, the National President of the Nigerian Institute of Management, Dr. Nelson Uwaga explained that the Rector had showed excellent managerial acumen in the administration of FEDPONEK. Dr. Uwaga observed that apart from the positive infrastructural developments in the campus, the Polytechnic had enjoyed peace which enhanced academic learning and productive staff performances on the job. 

The President specifically commended the Entrepreneurship Development Centre established in the Polytechnic, which exposed the staff and students to modern techniques in business administration as well as running of small and medium scale industrial ventures. Dr. Uwaga appealed to the Rector to avail more staff of the Polytechnic, the opportunity of participating in the national and international Workshops organized by the Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM). 

The National President announced the introduction of the Customized Leadership and Management Training Programme for Women, otherwise known as Women in Management and Leadership (WEMA), aimed at creating more conductive environment for the women to prove their worth in the management sector of the wider society.
Receiving the Fellowship Award, the Rector, Dr. (Mrs.) C.U. Njoku described the Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM) as a professional organization which had imparted positively on the lived of various individuals, irrespective of their professional inclination.

Hence, Dr. Njoku said that the Federal Polytechnic attached utmost importance to staff development, and consequently, had sponsored many academic and non-academic staff on relevant trainings which greatly improved their performance on the job. The Rector expressed happiness to NIM for finding her fit to be a Fellow of the Institute, even as she assured that the Award would spur her to record greater achievements in terms of management of organizations and human resources.

In his remarks, the Registrar of the Polytechnic, Mr. I. M. Aligbe thanked the Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM) for identifying and recognizing the enviable contributions of the Rector which had transformed the FEPONEK, thereby placing it as one of the best sought-after Polytechnics in Nigeria.

The ceremony was attended by the Principal Officers of the Polytechnic and NIM, including the conference participants drawn from different states of the Federation.
